This year for Thanksgiving we ventured out in the weather to drive to Washington to spend Thanksgiving with Spencer's parents and family.
One of the traditions that we sure liked was that everyone gets to have their very favorite pie.. No matter how many pies there are! There were a lot of pies. The second part of that tradition is that on Thanksgiving morning you get to eat pie for breakfast. The kids all sure liked that!
Spencer's two aunts came from Texas and his grandpa came from Arizona. He has a sister living near his parents so we got to see their family too. Our kids were in heaven with so many kids and so much family around.
Ezra immediately bonded with Doogle the dog. He followed that poor dog everywhere and fed him much more often than Doogle needed to be fed. Ezra had to feed him every bite from his hand, however. He also spent a lot of time in Doogle's kennel. When we got home he named one of his stuffed puppies 'Doogle' and he went for weeks asking for Doogle!
Ezra stayed pretty creative with his napping habits though..
Nan's birthday is around Thanksgiving time so we had a little celebration. Ezra always has to get in on the candle blowing out part.
The entire time we were there Ezra called the kitchen sink a 'bath'. He would ask several times a day if he could have a bath in the sink. Finally, the day we were leaving he dropped his shorts and bore it all and asked if he could have a bath. Obviously we can't say no to the kid.
It really worked out though because he ate his lunch in the kitchen bath right where everyone was hanging out anyway! It was so much easier to keep our eyes on him! He stayed in there for over an hour and we just changed out his water to keep him nice and warm.
Since his pampering at Nan and Papa's house he asks for kitchen baths at home. My sink in about have the size of theirs and after we did it one time the novelty was over!
