One of our extended family traditions every year around Christmas time is to have a progressive dinner and travel around to all of our houses. This year I had the dessert and this is what I made.. It was delicious bytheway! My neighbor gave me the recipe and actually came over and helped me make part of it. I really have the best neighbors!
Mason loved all the cammotion around our house when we had family over.
This year Spen made a platform to put our sad broken tree on to make it look taller and to keep more of it out of Ezra's reach. There are advantages of tall ceilings. It was also really nice to pile presents on top of. This is how our tree looked after Santa visited on Christmas Morning.
We set some kid traps to hear when Ethan got up. Jingle bell land mines worked like a charm!
Our kids don't get up super early, and when we get up on Christmas morning I make the kids eat breakfast before we can go play. We finally made it out around 9:00 to start the present opening!
Ez was excited and happy with everything anyone got. He was so much fun. He loved his piano that Santa brought him. Especially the microphone.
Mason got a bunch of Sing-a-ma-jigs from Santa. I thought he'd like them a lot more than he did. My grandma sure enjoyed them when she came over! She couldn't stop playing with them.
Ethan left Santa cookies and the reindeer some carrots. He was pretty happy that Santa wrote him back.
At the suggestion of our friends we got Ethan this razor trike. He saw it and thought it was more for little kids, but we took it outside for a test drive and it was awesome! I don't know who liked it more, me or him! He loved it.
I gave all the boys some battery powered disc shooters. When they opened them they were loaded and ready to play with. We did that for an hour or so! It was a lot of fun. I am still finding discs everywhere! Ezra has to get pretty close to aim... He kept shooting my 94 year old granny.
Mason gave Ethan the lightsaber that he has been wanting. Mase sure knows what Ethan likes!
That led to a lightsaber war..
Christmas around our house is very different than other people's houses. We open our gifts very slowly. The kids play with every toy that is opened and try on every clothing item they open, if they get a movie everything stops and we watch it! We barely opened any gifts on Christmas Day! We finally opened the last of our Christmas gifts on New Year's Eve. The kids got Despicable Me.. It came with goggles.
Ethan made me a homemade copy of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. I loved it. That book is read a lot around here.
They had a great Christmas break. We opened a few presents everyday and the house was turned upside down in chaos for at least a week!
Mason loved opening up his gifts this year. He normally just really loves the paper, but he really loved opening this year. He was a very spoiled little boy! He came home from school the last day of school with a big box of gifts from friends and teachers from school. Lucky man!
Ethan made little wooden reindeer to give to all of his relatives. He was so excited to see if they would like them. They did!
We had a very wonderful Christmas!
